Abstract

Waste Decreasing well production rates is a major problem for the petroleum industry. This decrease in production rate occurs with the length of time the well has been produced. In producing an oil field, the objective is to obtain the maximum oil yield, but under certain conditions the production rate decreases due to increased water production which causes an increase in the water cut value so that it affects the reduction in the recovery value. One of the factors that causes a decrease in the rate of oil production from a well is the presence of water coning, as happened in the IDR well, the STF field has fluid production of 835.24 BFPD with an oil production rate of 52.75 BOPD and water production of 782.49 BWPD. In this final project, the authors make a plan for the application of the Water Conformance method and determine the critical flow rate, to minimize water coning with the Chiericci and Craft & Hawkins methods in the STF field IDR well. In addition, the Water comformance method can change the viscosity of the fluid (water) under the layer. the oil becomes higher and at a certain temperature the fluid (water) will become a permanent gel and is expected to block or inhibit the flow of water through the oil layer, so that the water produced is reduced or lost altogether. From the evaluation results obtained, it is expected that the water conformance method can be a further consideration to determine the amount of oil production rate so that the Water Coning problem does not become an obstacle in producing maximum oil.
