Abstract

The growth of franchise-based minimarkets or franchises, namely Indomaret and Alfamart in Tuah Karya Urban Village is currently growing rapidly, which is indicated by the increasing number of minimarkets, then the location of minimarkets in various road network systems and even adjacent to community settlements, so it is feared that it has the potential to influence buying interest. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of minimarket growth on people's buying interest in Tuah Karya Urban Village. This study uses a mixed method of qualitative descriptive analysis to determine the trend of minimarket growth and determine the effect of minimarket growth on people's buying interest in Tuah Karya Urban Village as well as quantitative descriptive analysis to determine the factors that influence people's buying interest with data collection methods through field observations, distribution questionnaire and open interview. The results of this study indicate that the growth trend of minimarkets in Tuah Karya UrbanVillage fluctuates with the highest growth in 2016 of 35% and 2019 as the lowest growth of only 5%. Minimarkets are spread along the main connecting road with close distances so that based on the analysis of service coverage, many minimarkets overlap with each other. Based on the results of factor analysis, it is known that there are three factors that influence the buying interest of the people of Tuah KaryaUrban Village, namely product factors, competitive price factors and strategic location factors. Then based on the distribution of questionnaires and open interviews, it was found that 85 respondents agreed that the increasing number of minimarkets in Tuah Karya Urban Village would affect people's buying interest and 61 respondents made location their main preference in determining the location for shopping.
