Abstract

Quail hatchery business is a quail spawning activity with the selection of gonadally mature quail broodstock. UIR Fish Nursery Center, one of the quail hatchery businesses by the manager. This study aims to analyze 1) Characteristics of entrepreneurs/managers and profile of quail hatchery business 2) Nonfinancial feasibility of quail hatchery business 3) Financial feasibility of quail hatchery business 4) Sensitivity of quail hatchery business. The method used in this study was a case study on the quail hatchery business (Fish Nursery Center) in Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, for 6 months starting from September 2021 to February 2022. Determination of respondents by purposive sampling at quail hatchery business managers and employees at the Fish Nursery Center. The data used in this study were sourced from primary and secondary data. The type of data used consists of descriptive quantitative and qualitative data. Based on the results of the study showed that the business manager was 27 years old, 18 years of education, 4 years of business experience, a number of family person. Quail hatchery business was a small-scale business. Non-financial feasibility from the aspect of the marketing market, the technical and the human resource management aspects of the quail hatchery business was feasible to be operated and developed. Likewise, the financial feasibility analysis of the quail hatchery was feasible to be operated and developed because it has the investment criteria with an NPV value was 7,295,673 > 0, Net B/C 1.37 > 1, IRR 13.69% > cost of capital and PP for 5 years 1 month from the business life of projects. Based on the sensitivity of the quail hatchery business, it was more sensitive to a decrease in production prices by 2.40% compared to an increase in operating costs of 2.40% with NPV 3,351,935, IRR 9.70%, Net B/C 1.17 PP for 5 years 7 month 2 days
