Abstract

Tungkal Utara Village, Pariaman Utara City, Sumatra Barat Province where the villager live right on the that can called edge of steep slope with the characteristic of the slope height >10m and tilt 30°-45°. In 2009 ago, when big earthquake happen with 4.6 Richter scale on offshore sumatra, 50km northwest from Padang city, landslide happen on research sites. That why this research was made for indentify landslide potency in the future and one step ahead to mitigate landslide that can be happen on this sites. The first Research phase is reviewed research references with could help to collect and processing the data later, the next phase is collect data with drilling method with 70cm depth at each pre-planned station. At station one the slope tilt is 30°. The Direct Shear Test data that has been collected from station one station one are (c) Cohession 0.222kg/cm 2 or 21.77kN/m 2 with degree value of inner shear angle (Φ). With this data, the next phase is calculate safety factor of slope on station one with Fellenius Method and the result of Safety Factor is 1.2 categorize as critical slope or the slope that already happen the landslide. Grain distribution analysis with sieve method and atterberg analysis says the station one classified as Silty Sand, station 2 classified as silty sand, station 3 classified as clayish sand and station 4 classified as silty sand.
