Abstract

Undergraduate Thesis for Biology Education Department, Education Faculty of Islamic University of Riau Advisor: Dr. Sri Amnah, M.Si ABSTRACT This study aims to determine students' creative thinking skills in solving problems on the excretion system material test questions in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Kelayang. This research is a descriptive study. The instrument used is a matter of creative thinking on the excretion system material which is made based on indicators of creative thinking and interviews. The sample of this research were students of class VIII a, VIII b, VIII c, and VIII d SMP N 2 Kelayang many as 116 students. The results of this study indicate that the students' creative thinking skills of class VIII SMP N 2 Kelayang are in the very low category with a percentage of 33,91%. From the indicators of creative thinking questions, 41,46% in the low category of students were able to answer questions with indicator fluency, of indicator originality 37,14%, of indicator elaboration 33,59%, and indicators flexibility 23,46%. From the results of this study it can be concluded that students of SMP N 2 Kelayang have the ability to think creatively in the very low category.
