Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze public services at the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation at the Riau Police (Study of Children in Conflict with the Law) and to determine the barriers to public services at the Directorate General of Criminal Investigation at the Riau Police. The type of research used in this study was qualitative research. Qualitative research describes the actual situation of what was found at the time of the research based on the author's observations in the field by collecting data, clarifying, and analyzing in order to obtain a formulation of the analysis of the problems encountered. The research informants in this study were 1 Head of the Women and Children Investigator Unit as key informants, 2 Women and Children Investigators and 9 community service users as supporting informants. Data analysis in this study starts from data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the quality of public services at the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation at the Riau Police was based on several indicators in the dimensions, namely (1) the dimension of reliability. the same as to the reporter (2) The responsiveness dimension, there are still weaknesses, namely when interviews/examinations are too long, causing children to become bored, the lack of child investigators compared to the number of cases handled so that each investigator can handle 5-7 cases (3) The dimension of Assurance in this dimension is that the service provider is categorized as good and in accordance with the specified quality. (4) The dimension of direct evidence (Tangibel) is that there are deficiencies, namely the absence of a TV in the waiting room and the lack of cold temperatures in the waiting room. (5) Empathy dimension (empathy) in this dimension the attitude of officers in understanding the wishes of the community has been categorized as good, such as the attitude of investigators who assist in the reporting process and the attention given by officers to the community is also good.
