Abstract

One of the tasks of the Public Relations Division in the Regional Secretariat of the Kepulauan Meranti Regency is the delivery of information to the press, where any information or news from the Regent and Regional Secretariat and officials in the regional secretariat need to be clearly and accurately conveyed to the public. finished. This study aims to determine how the activities of the media relations of the Public Relations of the Regional Secretary of Kepulauan Meranti Regency in conveying information to the press. This study also aims to determine the obstacles of the activities of Public Relations of the Regional Secretary of Kepulauan Meranti Regency in conveying information to the press. The theory in this study uses Franks Jefkins communication theory regarding media relations. There are both theoretical and practical indications that public relations activities are dynamic and flexible towards the development of the dynamics of people's lives that follow the progress of the times, especially entering the era of globalization and the current third. This study uses qualitative methods with the presentation of descriptive analysis, Subject of this study consisted of 4 informants who have been determined. The location of the study was held at the Regional Secretariat of Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The results of this study illustrate that the media relations activities of Public Relations of the Regional Secretary of Kepulauan Meranti Regency conduct in-house journals, press releases, press conferences, and press gatherings.
