Abstract
Aceh is a special region with the privilege of implementing Islamic Sharia in several respects, including: worship, ahwal al-syakhshiyah (family law), muamalah (civil law), jinayat (criminal law), qadha ’(judiciary), tarbiyah (education), syiar and da'wah, and tire defense of Islam, which is in accordance with Article 125 (2) of Law no. 11 of 2006 concerning the Government of Aceh (hereinafter referred to as UUPA) will be regulated further through the Aceh Qanun. This study wants to illustrate the public's perception of the application of flagellant using quantitative methods. The description of public perception seen from the social conditions of the community strongly agrees with the flagellant, as well as viewed from tire aspect of social integration and social regulation. So it can be concluded from this research that public in East Aceh approved the application of flagellant.
