Abstract
Job satisfaction is a person's attitude towards the work he performs; it can be viewed from the good attitude showed to his job or everything he commits in his work environment.Career development is a structured activity which has planned by the organization for its members with the aim of increasing their knowledge and abilities in accordance with the direction and advancement of their career.This study aims to determinethe effect of career development towards employee's job satisfaction. The subjects in this study are 90 people who are selected by using saturated sample technique. The data collection instrumentsare career development scale consisting of 72 items compiled by Nurdin (2014) and job satisfaction scale of 36 items that have been compiled by Novianti (2011) which has been modified by the researcher.The analysis used is simple regression. Based on the research result that has been carried out, it is concluded that there is no effect between career development and job satisfaction of employees of the Batam City Land Agency with 0.3% coefficient and shows insignificant results.
