Abstract

This research is based on the research objective to determine the optimization of the Environmental and Cleanliness Service in Waste Management in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City and inhibiting factors in waste management in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. Where in this study there are additional phenomena: 1. It is indicated that there is still a lack of restrictions on waste by the community in waste management such as cans, plastic waste, and other lianas. 2. There is an indication that there is a lack of socialization carried out by the Pekanbaru City Environment and Sanitation Service to encourage people to manage waste. 3. There are indications that there are no facilities and infrastructure provided in the type of waste management by the Pekanbaru City Environment and Sanitation Service. The theory in this research is the theory of Law Number 18 of 2008 concerning 3R waste management (REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE). The indicators in this study are Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle. This type of research which is located at the Department of Environment and Sanitation of Pekanbaru City is a descriptive type of research with qualitative methods because this study explores and analyzes the optimization of the Department of Environment and Cleanliness in Waste Management in Pekanbaru City District. The techniques used to collect data in this study were interviews, observation and documentation by balancing the results of data analysis and different techniques from the source and the conclusion. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that not all indicators have been implemented
