Abstract

Contributions to the Power of Leg Muscles and Detection of the Ability of the Speed of Sick Kicks Pencak Silat Athletes PPLP - District of Meranti This type of research is correlational research. Based on the researchers' observations that took place in the field, namely the ability of the martial arts athletes of PPLP - Meranti District, most of them had not been maximal in kicking the sickle first kick. In the discussion of this study there were several factors including those who did not argue with leg muscle strength, flexibility and sickle kick in the martial arts athlete PPLP - Meranti District. The type of this research is a multiple comparison study with assessment techniques using correlational analysis techniques. The population and samples in this study were the Pencak Silat atelt PPLP - Kepulauan Meranti District as many as 15 athletes. The sample is 15 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. This research was carried out at the Multipurpose Building of the Regional Government of Pemda, Tebing Tinggi District, Kepulauan Meranti Regency. Data collection was carried out on April 3, 2019 by conducting a Vertical Jump test, Front Split and the Speed of the Pencak Silat Sickle Kick. Based on the analysis of the data obtained using multiple analyzes, the calculated r value of 0.86 and r table in n 15 is 0.514 depending on the range 0.80 - 1,000 in the very strong category. Based on the analysis of the data in this study, conclusions can be drawn about the contribution of leg muscle strength and weakness to the ability of the PPLP Pencak Silat athlete's sickle kick - Meranti Regency area of 74.65%.
