Abstract

The village government as the front guard in managing village funds must be maximized in carrying out its main tasks and functions, so that capacity development is needed so that its performance can run effectively and efficiently. The research aims to describe how the capacity development of the Village government in managing village funds in Telaga Baru Village, as well as knowing what are the inhibiting factors in capacity building, the capacity development indicators used include the dimensions of human resources, dimensions of organizational development, and dimensions of regulatory reform, type of research. which is located in the government of Telaga Baru Village, Rangsang Barat District, Meranti Islands Regency is descriptive qualitative, which describes the condition of objects found in the field based on existing data and analysis, using the Capacity Development theory by Grindle (1997). There are 1 key informant and 4 informants in this study using the sampling technique "Purposive Sampling". Using observation, documentation and interviews in data collection. Based on this analysis, the researchers assessed and concluded that the development of the capacity of the Telaga Baru Village Government in managing village funds that has been taking place so far has not succeeded in creating effective, efficient, responsive, and sustainable village government performance. Recommendations that need to be made, especially in capacity building, are to improve discipline and provide training to all village officials so that services to the community and management of village funds run optimally.
