Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and explain the role of Principal in improving teacher performance, achievement of teacher performance, and relationship of principal role and improvement of teacher performance SMAN 1 Perhentian Raja Kampar Regency. Type of research is descriptive method with quantitative approach. The research respondents were all teachers at SMAN 1 Perhentian Raja Kampar Regency which amounted to 32 people, that is sampling using census method. Types and sources of data are primary and secondary data collected using questionnaires, documentation and observation studies. The analysis technique used is descriptive analysis with quantitative approach. From the results of the study concluded that: (1) The role of Principal in SMA Negeri 1 Perhentian Raja Kampar Regency with the role category; (2) Teacher Performance Performance SMA Negeri 1 Perhentian Raja Kampar Regency is a high category; and (3) From the correlation analysis obtained correlation coefficient of 0.636 which is greater than the value of r table (0.349), so it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation and correlation between the Principal's Role with Teacher Performance Improvement SMA Negeri 1 Perhentian Raja Kampar Regency.
