Abstract

This research aims to find out how to know supervision of the environmental office in the licensing of underground water drilling in the city of Pekanbaru. There are 2indicators :direct supervision, indirect supervision. The Formulation of the problem in this research is how the environmental office supervise the licensing of underground water drilling in the city of Pekanbaru. The location in this research is on department of environmental servicesPekanbaru City and Motorcycle and Car Washing Businesses. The samples of this research are the environmental service, there are 7 people employeessamples,and the motorcycle and car washing businesses there are 51 samples used the slovin theory.. The type of data used are primary data and secondary data. Technique data collection used was observation, questionnaires, and interviews..The result of this research is to know how the environmental office supervise the licensing of underground water drilling in the city of Pekanbaruin the category that is “Quite Accomplished�. The obstacles are Human resource limitations, so that there are often difficulties in field monitoringand The minimal budget from the local government and vehicle operations to place business entities, so that the supervision and procurement of socialization activities is not carried out due to limited costs.. For this reason there must be serious efforts on the part of the environmental service in pay attention to and disseminate information on the importance of underground water drilling licenses to business entities, especially motorbike and car washing businesses and the need for an adequate budget from local government so that activities such as socialization and outreach on the importance of water drilling permits underground in every business entity, especially motorbike and car wash business entities.
