Abstract

This research title is “The Inheritance System of Traditional Ethnic Music Dance in Teluk Village, Kuala Kampar District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province�. The formulation of this research is how is the inheritance system of traditional ethnic music dance in Teluk Village, Kuala Kampar District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. This research aims to determine the inheritance system of traditional ethnic music dance in Teluk Village, Kuala Kampar District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. This reseach uses theory byCavallia-Sforza and Feldman in Adhiputra (2013 : 43)that explains about two kinds of inheritance namely: Vertical Transmission and Horizontal Transmission. This research is descriptive with qualitative explanation and the subject of this research is Mr Meng as custom leader also musicians, Mr Ucup as musicians, Mr Sam as musicians, Mrs Boyok as dancer and singer in traditional ethnic music dance and Mr Arlan Attajudin as musicians. Data collection techniques were obtained throughnonparticipant observation, free guided interviews, and documentation by using hand phone to take a picture. This research finds that there are two kinds of inheritage system of traditional ethnic music dance in Teluk Village, Kuala Kampar District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province there are: Vertical Transmission isan inheritance that is passed down from previous generations through genetics, in this research Mr Meng explains that he is inherit traditional ethnic music dancein Teluk Villagefrom his great-grandfather and parents. WhileHorizontal Transmissionis an inheritance systems that is passed on through institutions or their environment, in this researchMrs Boyokand Mr Arlan Attajudin explains that they are inherit traditional ethnic music dancein Teluk Villagefromthe environment which gives a habit to the traditional ethnic who strengthen the friendship of this traditional ethnic dance and as entertainment for the traditional ethnic in Teluk Village, Kuala Kampar District.
