Abstract

The research question in this research is ‘Teaching and Learning Process in Cultural Art Subject (Creation Dance, Mak Inang Pulau Kampai) for XI MIA 1 Students in SMAN 2 Rengat Indragiri Hulu Academic Year 2019/2020? The purpose of this research is to know the Teaching and Learning Process in Cultural Art Subject (Creation Dance, Mak Inang Pulau Kampai) for XI MIA 1 Students in SMAN 2 Rengat Indragiri Hulu Academic Year 2019/2020. The minimum standard of score (KKM) in this cultural art subject is 80. The theory which is used in this research is Abidin with the methodology interactive analysis with qualitative data. This research was done in SMAN 2 Rengat, Indragiri Hulu. The research participant in this research was 1 (one) cultural art teacher and 8 (eight) students in XI MIA 1, so that the total of participants in this research were 9 (nine). Data analysis techniques were observation, interview, and documentation in the teaching and learning in Cultural Art Subject. Curriculum which was used was curriculum 2013 with the national syllabus and lesson plans which has been set by government nationally. The teaching and learning process has been divided in three phases: introduction, main, and closing activities in 8 meetings. Overall, the teaching and learning used the question-answer method, lecturing, and exercises. Finally, the evaluation of teaching and learning process in Cultural Art Subject (Creation Dance, Mak Inang Pulau Kampai) for XI MIA 1 in SMAN 2 Rengat, Indragiri Hulu showed that there was a noticeable increasing in students’ score for reaching the minimum standard of score (KKM).
