Abstract
AThe purpose of this study is to identify tourism development strategies and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in tourism development in Tanjung Raya District, Agam Regency. The data used are primary and secondary data obtained through interviews and questionnaires to respondents. The samples in this study were tourism management institutions and visitors/tourists with purposive sampling method. The data analysis method used in this study was descriptive method with SWOT analysis technique. The results showed that tourism in Tanjung Raya District has the potential to be developed, based on the SWOT Matrix the appropriate strategy for developing tourism is the SO strategy, which is to take opportunities with the strengths that exist in Tanjung Raya District tourism.
