Abstract

This study aims to find out how the motives for using social media are. Instagram as a place for self-existence on the @rianindraputra account. Every media social user, especially Jnstagram, certainly has a certain motive that is the basis for the reason or impetus for someone to act. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method using theory. Phenomenology according to Alfred Scuthz 's view which classifies motive into two parts. That is because motive. Which refers to past experiences and in order to motive which refers to the future. The results of this study indicate that based on the "because motive", there are two motives that are the reason or impetus for the @rianindraputra account to take action in using Jnstagram, namely information motives and entertainment motives. Based on "in order to motive", the are three motives which are the reason and encouragement for the @rianindraputra account to take action in using lnstagram, namely the self existence motive, the endorsement/paid promote motive, and the economic motive.
