Abstract

This study aims to determine the communication strategy of the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) Pekanbaru City in disseminating professional zakat. BAZNAS itself uses a communication strategy to socialize and educate the public about professional zakat. Most people do not know what professional zakat is, therefore the role of BAZNAS Pekanbaru City in socializing and educating the public about professional zafvv kat needs to be enforced. In this study, the authors used qualitative descriptive research methods, while the data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. The speakers for this research were Mr. Abdurizan as the Head of Pekanbaru City BAZNAS, Mr. Yusrialis as the Chief Executive of Pekanbaru City BAZNAS, and Mr. Nixson Husin as the Deputy Head of Planning and Reporting. Based on the results of the research using the data collection techniques above, it can be concluded that the communication strategy of the Pekanbaru City Baznas in conducting the Socialization of Professional Zakat is carried out by the method of knowing the audience, compiling messages, determining methods, selecting the use of media, and the role of communicators. Then, related to the obstacles faced by BAZNAS in disseminating professional zakat, there are two obstacles, namely the absence of a direct professional zakat socialization program because the number of employees of BAZNAS Pekanbaru City is still limited. Second, the creative team of Instagram and Facebook social media is not optimal because there are no employees specifically in handling social media. This has the effect that the number of followers, likes, and posts of the two social media is still not maximized.
