Abstract

Rico Prasetya Candra (164110225) research with the title: “The Effect of Spraying Time and Paclobutrazol Concentration on the growth of trembesi (Albizia saman Jacq) seedlings. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of spraying time and concentration of paclobutrazol on the growth of trembesi (Albizia saman Jacq) seedlings. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kharuddin Nasution No. 113, KM 11, Cold Water Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The research time is from June to September 2020. This study used a factorian Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is the spraying time (W) consisting of 3 levels, namely: 25, 50, and 75 days after planting (DAT) and the second factor is the concentration of paclobutrazol (K) which consists of 4 levels, namely: without treatment, 75, 150, and 225 ppm so that there are 12 treatment combinations with 3 replications, so there are 36 experimental units. Each unit consisted of 4 plants per plot and 2 plants were sampled, so that the total plants were 144 plants. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, number of leaves and leaf area. The data were analyzed statistically and presented with the Honest Significant Difference Test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the treatment interaction time of spraying and concentration of paclobutrazol significantly affected plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, and leaf area. the best treatment in suppressing plant growth was 50 DAP (W2) spraying time and 150 ppm (K2) paclobutrazol concentration. The main effect of spraying time is real on all observation parameters. The best treatment was 50 days after planting (DAT) (W2). The main effect of paclobutrazol concentration was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment with a concentration of 150 ppm (K2)
