Abstract
this research is entitled The Effect of Swallow Manure and KCl Fertilizer on the Growth and Production of Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). Under the guidance of Mrs. Dr. Ir. Saripah Ulpah, M.Sc. This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau. Kharuddin Nasution Street KM 11, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The time of this research was carried out for 4 months starting from December 2020 to March 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction of swallow manure and KCl fertilizer on the growth and production of shallots. The design used in this study was a completely randomized factorial design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the dose of swallow manure 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 kg/plot while the second factor was the dose of KCl fertilizer of 0, 10, 20 and 30 g/plot. These parameters were observed, namely plant height, number of leaves per clump, age of harvest, number of tubers per clump, wet weight of tubers per clump, dry weight of tubers per clump and tuber weight loss. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with further BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of swallow manure and KCl fertilizer had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The best treatment was a dose of 1.5 kg/plot of swallow manure and 30 g/plot of KCl fertilizer.
