Abstract
This research is descriptive qualitative research. The object of this research is English textbook grade XI by Kemendikbud RI, that contain with 8 texts. The researcher analyzes the formation of compound words with morphology theory to know the internal structure of compound words. There are five types of compound words. Those are compound noun, compound verb, compound adjective, compound adverb and neo- classical compound. A morphological analysis is used by the reseacher to analyze the compound words, classify the types and the meaning of compound words. The researcher found 60 compound words in English Textbook Grade XI by Kemendikbud RI. About 52 of them are compound noun, 5 of them are compound adverb, 2 compound adjective and 1 compound verb. Most of the compound are endocentric compound, some of them exocentric and there is no coordinative compound.
