Abstract

This study is motivated by the signs of lack discipline among students in performing congregational dzuhur prayers. The problem formulation of this study is whether there is an influence of teacher role model on student discipline in performing congregational dzuhur prayers in class VII at MTs Himmatul Ummah. This study aims to investigate the influence of teacher role model on student discipline in performing congregational dzuhur prayer in class VII at MTs Himmatul Ummah. The type of this study is a quantitative correlation study. The subject of this study is all seventh grade students of MTs Himmatul Ummah Tapung, Kampar Regency. The population and sample of this study are all students of class VII at MTs Himmatul Ummah totaling 66 students. This study has two variables, namely the teacher role model (variable X) and the student discipline in performing congregational prayers (variable Y). The results of this study show that there is an influence of teacher role model on student discipline in performing congregational prayers. It can be seen from the results of data processing using IBM spss statistics 23 for windows that simple regression analysis obtained a significance value which is less than 0,05 namely 0,000, it means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The magnitude level of influence between the teacher role model (variable X) and the student discipline in performing congregational prayers (variable Y) is 44,3% which is in the range 0.40 - 0.599, or in the medium level criteria. Meanwhile, 55,7% of student discipline is influenced by other variables which are not investigated in this study. In conclusion, it is proven that the teacher role model influences the student discipline in performing dzuhur prayers in class VII at MTs Himmatul Ummah with the category of "medium".
