Abstract

This research was motivated by the presence of several parents / guardians of students who found it difficult to teach children at home during the COVID-19 pandemic in The Village Of Sendayan, North Kampar Sub-District. Among them are parents who do not understand using smartphones, are illiterate, and are constrained by the network. The formulation of the problem in this research is what are the problems faced by parents in teaching their children at home during the COVID-19 pandemic in The Village Of Sendayan, North Kampar Sub-District. The purpose of this study was to analyze the problems of parents in teaching children at home during the COVID-19 pandemic in The Village Of Sendayan, North Kampar Sub-District. The approach used is a case study approach with qualitative research. The main informants are parents/guardians of class VIII SMP Negeri 01 Kampar who live in Sendayan Village, North Kampar Sub-District and the supporting informant is The Head of Sendayan Village, North Kampar Sub-District. Data collection techniques used are interview and documentation techniques. Data processing and analysis techniques used in qualitative research are data cleaning, transcription, coding, categorization and interpretation. The results of this study show that there are several problems between parents in teaching children at home during the Covid19 pandemic in Sendayan Village, North Kampar District as follows: Parents Do Not Understand the Concept of Teaching / Parents Do Not Understand Using Smartphones / Internet Access is Unstable / Difficult to Motivate Children to Study / Expensive Internet Quota / Busy Work Makes It Difficult for Parents to Share Study Time with Children / Lack of Interest in Children's Learning
