Abstract
Pineapple farming in Sungai Pakning Village is a source of income for farmers. The results of pineapple farming are expected to be profitable and prosperous for farmers. This study aims to analyze: 1) Farmer characteristics and pineapple farming profiles; 2) Pineapple cultivation technology, use of production factors and pineapple production; 3) Production costs, income and efficiency of pineapple farming and 4) Marketing: marketing institutions and channels, marketing functions, costs, profits, margins, farmer's share, and pineapple marketing efficiency in Sungai Pakning Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency. This research was carried out in Sungai Pakning Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency from March 2021 to August 2021. The method used was a survey method. Respondents were selected by census as many as 12 pineapple farmers, as well as 1 collector and retailer. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The results showed: the average age of the farmer is 50 years, the education level is 10 years, the experience is 7 years and the number of dependents of the family is 4 people. The business profile obtained is medium business scale, monoculture cropping pattern and commercial business purpose. Pineapple cultivation technology applied by farmers in general is almost in accordance with theoretical recommendations. The use of production factors: urea 242.94 kg/ha, KCl 14.12 kg/ha, gromoxon 2.94 liters/ha, and ethrel 1.36 liters/ha, while the average pineapple production was 9,206 fruit/ha. The production cost of pineapple farming in Sungai Pakning Village was Rp.7,785,544/ha/year, gross income was Rp.29,532,848/ha/year, while net income was Rp.21,747,304/ha/year, and obtained an RCR of 3.79, which means that pineapple farming in Sungai Pakning Village is profitable and feasible to cultivate. There are two pineapple marketing channels and 7 marketing functions carried out in Sungai Pakning Village. The large marketing cost in channel II is Rp. 91.73/piece. The most profitable marketing efficiency in channel I is 0.26%.
