Abstract

Analysis of language errors is the use of language, both orally or writing that deviates from the determinants of communication or deviates from the rules of Indonesian grammar. News Online covid19.go.id. Problem What is studied in this study is How are the word choice errors that are used? inappropriate at the semantic level on the Covid-19 Go.id Online News and How is the error of cognate pairs at the semantic level on News Online Covid-19.go.id. This study aims to collect data and information about incorrect word choice and pairing mistakes native. The reason for choosing the title is because I saw that there were some news stories that were distorted the confusion of this pandemic that gives rise to errors at the semantic level, namely meaning which can deviate from its true meaning which will cause various assumptions in society. In addition, the author chooses the object of online news because it is still rarely heard of research that uses online news objects. The method used in this research is qualitative research and descriptive. The data collection techniques used in this research are documentation and hermeneutic techniques. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the analysis of language errors at the semantic level in online news Covid19.go.id. it can be concluded that there are 2 classifications of errors, namely errors due to co-original pairs as much as 1 data, namely the error in using the word pass and pass, errors due to incorrect word choices are 48 data, namely (1) errors in the use of words in and in as many as 12 data, (2) errors in words the community and the people as much as 1 data, (1) the wrong use of the word juxtaposed and connected as much as 1 data, (4) errors in the use of words already and have been as many as 28 data, and (5) word use errors of and as much as 7 data.
