Abstract

In a drilling operation, an increase in penetration rate (ROP) is an expected drilling objective. The rate of penetration can be stated to increase if the completion time is fast and the drilling objectives are properly achieved in accordance with the plan. In this final project, to get the desired result, it needs rock lithology analysis in the TY well. Then perform a Weigth on bit (WOB) analysis of the planned increase in penetration rate (ROP) at well TY, by calculating the effect of mechanical factors based on the Bourgoyne and Young method and comparing it with the Cost Per Foot method to compare drilling costs between actual and optimization calculations. Obtained a comparison of the increase in the rate of penetration in the actual data showing data 1 from 66.70 ft / hr to 95.3 ft / hr, data 2 from 108.3 ft / hr to 173.04 ft / hr, data 3 from 75.50 ft / hr to 120.11 ft / hr, data 4 from 63.40 ft / hr to 103.4 ft / hr data 5 from 67.50 ft / hr to 105.92 ft / hr, 6 data from 58.50 ft / hr to 91.19 ft / hr, 7 data from 60.20 ft / hr to 95.63 ft / hr, data 8 from 53 ft / hr to 82.42 ft / hr. Based on the plan to increase the penetration rate, the Cost Per Foot value is obtained at US $ 1,916 which indicates a decrease in the actual total cost of US $ 2,722.
