Abstract

Teacher communication skills are abilities possessed by teachers who are tasked with creating a knowledge that is open to students in learning activities to achieve a goal. In this case, the one who plays a role in communicating is the teacher, if a teacher who has a myriad of intelligence and broad knowledge but is unable to communicate to students will certainly not be able to transform his knowledge to students, so that knowledge will become own wealth that will never be channeled to students. Therefore, communication is very important for the world of education. Furthermore, learning discipline is a form of student obedience in implementing the rules set by the school and also the teacher in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Learning discipline is indispensable for every student, with the discipline of learning this educational goal will be easier to achieve. Students' learning satisfaction is all forms of attitudes and behaviors shown by students, either in the form of positive attitudes or negative attitudes which they expect from the teaching and learning process services received by these students. This study aims to determine the effect of teacher communication skills and student learning discipline on the economic learning satisfaction of class XI IPS at SMA NEGERI 2 Pekanbaru. The sample in this study were students of class XI IPS as many as 84 students. The sample collection technique was carried out by simple random sampling. This study uses quantitative methods using SPSS V. 22.0. From the research results, it is found that: X1 (teacher communication skills) affect Y (student economic learning satisfaction), X2 (student learning discipline) does not affect Y (student economic learning satisfaction), and however X1 and X2 (teacher communication skills student learning discipline) has an effect on Y (student's economic learning satisfaction) class XI IPS at SMA NEGERI 2 Pekanbaru.
