Abstract

This research is entitled "Poang Dance Development in the Sakai Tribe, Kesumbo Ampai Village, Bengkalis Regency". This study aims to find out how the Poang Dance is fostered in the Sakai Tribe community, Kesumbo Ampai Village, Bengkalis Regency. The research method used in this research is to use descriptive analysis using interactive qualitative data, which is to describe what it is about a symptom or condition variable. Kesumbo Ampai Village is the maintenance of Poang dance art by preserving dance culture, saving Poang dance from extinction by applying regeneration. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses data analysis. The implementation uses specific findings and general findings. While the results of research in dance, processing the basic movements of Poang Dance which are carried out with renewal without losing the aesthetics, customs and etiquette of Poang dance, providing guidance by guiding what are the techniques in dancing Poang dance, direction to achieve the vision and mission of the goals to be achieved in dancing. Poang dance research or research on the art of Poang Dance, videos and recordings of Poang dance excavations through journal references, the increase in the quality of dance members has progress in dancing the Poang dance.
