Abstract

Insurance breeds an agreement between an insurance company and a guarantor. The policy functions as written evidence that states that there has been an insurance agreement between the insured and the guarantor in the policy. Insurance companies that market their insurance products are required to have joint operational guidelines related to risk selection, payment of premiums and claims, filing claims for insured complaints and complaints. In reality, there are often discrepancies or inaccuracies in the documents that become the conditions of settling claim payments submitted by the insured because they do not understand the insurance claim procedure properly, so that if one of the requirements in the submission of claim documents is lacking, the company needs additional time to make claim payment process so that the claim process is delayed or does not run at all. The main problem of this research is the implementation of life insurance claims at PT Prudential Life Insurance Pekanbaru Branch based on Law Number 40 of 2014 concerning Insurance, and obstacles in the implementation of life insurance claims at PT Prudential Life Insurance Pekanbaru Branch The research method used was observational research that is by means of surveys, by means of surveys, meaning that researchers directly conduct research at the location of the study, while the nature of this study is descriptive. The results of the research and discussion revealed that the implementation of life insurance claims at PT Prudential Life Insurance Pekanbaru Branch based on Law Number 40 of 2014 concerning Insurance it has not worked. This happens because there are still unsuccessful claims submission and late payment of claims where claims should be paid no later than 30 (thirty) days after filing the claim. And the Obstacles in the implementation of life insurance claims at PT Prudential Life Insurance Pekanbaru Branch are the obstacles that is the insurance company requires conditions detailed in the case of filing a claim by the insured so that, often late in making premium payments so that they experience arrears in premium payments, do not meet claim criteria, the notification letter does not reach the insured or the policy holder, the policy is not active (policy lapsed), and the insufficient knowledge of the insured to insurance, so there are many insured who do not know the procedure in filing an insurance claim
