Abstract

This study aims to determine how efforts to improve students' abilities by using audiovisual media in learning cultural arts in class VIII-1 of SMPN 1 Bandar Seikijang. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) which uses 2 cycles consisting of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results of this study show that of the 34 students above all were declared failures or in the very poor category of their initial abilities both intellectually and physically. Classical completeness in cycle I is 29.41%, based on this percentage, it can be seen that the students' dancing ability is still far below the average because there are only a few students who complete, but only in the KKM fit category and not up to half the number of students so it needs to be done again. action to cycle II to see the difference. Classical completeness in cycle II is 88.23%, based on this percentage, it can be seen that the students' dancing ability has increased from before, so it can be concluded that using audiovisual media in class VIII-1 of SMPN 1 Bandar Seikijang can improve the dancing skills of their students.
