Abstract

The success of an organization is highly dependent on the quality of leadership that is exist in the organization concerned. Then the quality of leadership that exists in an organization plays a very dominant role in success the organization in carrying out various activities, especially the performance of its employees. The purpose of this study is to analyze: 1) characteristics of the management, employees and members of KUD, 2) good leadership style implemented by the chairman of the KUD, 3) the performance of the management and employees of the KUD, 3) the relationship the leadership style of the chairman with the performance of the KUD management and employees. Study This research was conducted in Titian Resak Village, Siberida District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The sample selection was done purposively. Data collection carried out through direct interviews using questionnaires and data secondary data obtained from the monograph report of Titian Resak Village, and information others relevant to the research. To see the relationship between variables observed was analyzed by using Spearman rank correlation test. Research result shows that the average age of management is 51.25 years, employees are 35 years and members 51.9 years, average male gender, education level management 12 years (SMA), employees 12.2 years (SMA) and members 9.6 years (SMP), the average number of dependents of the management family is 3.75 years, employees are 3.67 years and members 3.68 years, the average length of time on the board is 12.25 years, the average length of time as an employee is 4.5 years and the length of time as a member cooperatives an average of 9.7 years. The most frequently applied leadership style by the head of KUD Titian Resak is the supportive leadership style while the The most rarely applied leadership style is the leadership style achievement-oriented. The performance of the Titian Resak KUD management and employees measure based on quality of work, quantity of work, timeliness, cost effectiveness and independence is rated “Good” by most members of the cooperative. Based on Spearman Rank correlation test, leadership style with management performance and KUD employees have a moderate and significant correlation coefficient is a directive and supportive leadership style while the achievement-oriented does not have a significant relationship.
