Abstract

Self-Efficacy is a person's belief in his ability to carry out the various actions needed to achieve success in order to complete a task properly. It includes mastery experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion and physiological state.This study aims to determinethe correlation between self-compassion and self-efficacy on adolescents who live in orphanage. The subjects of this study are 155 children who live in Pekanbaru orphanage. The sampling technique in this study uses purposive sampling technique. The data collection process adapts the Dwi Rahayu Situmorang Self-Efficacy scale and the Hasanah and Hidayati Self-Compassion scale which have been modified by the researcher.While the statistical analysis used in this research is the Person Poduct moment correlation statistical analysis. Hypothesis testing has been carried out using SPSS version 20.0 for windows. The result shows that there is correlation between self-compassion and self- efficacy on adolescents who live at orphanages with rxy = 0.446 (p <0.05), the hypothesis in this study is accepted. It can be concluded that there is correlation between self-compassion and self-efficacy on adolescents who live in Pekanbaru orphanage.
