Abstract

The correctional facility is a unit that handles the development of prisoners and prisoners who are serving a sentence. With the increasingly rapid development of crime, prisons and detention centers in Indonesia are increasingly congested and can hinder the implementation of service and guidance functions. The right to health services for prisoners is one of the rights possessed by prisoners that must be upheld and respected. Health services for prisoners must meet predetermined standards so that prisoners can carry out their sentence properly and can return to their community environment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health services for prisoners in providing health services. This research uses descriptive qualitative type. This study shows that the effectiveness of health services for assisted residents is part of the fulfillment of rights in prisons. The health services provided by class IIA Pekanbaru prisons have not been going well because there are still several obstacles, namely a shortage of health workers, especially men, minimal facilities and infrastructure and the slow pace of providing health services to assisted residents.
