Abstract

Drainage as a complement to road structures such as roadside drains as surface drainage to accommodate and drain water when heavy rains arrive for a long time. The existence of the Pekanbaru City Public Works and Spatial Planning Office as an implementing element assists the mayor in carrying out government affairs in the field of Public Works and Spatial Planning led by the Head of the Service, in terms of drainage which is one of the causes of inundation or flooding for that it needs handling in overcoming it so that there is no excessive puddle. The purpose of this study is to determine the duties of the Pekanbaru City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency in improving drainage, and to find out what are the inhibiting factors that are the obstacles to the Pekanbaru City Public Works and Spatial Planning Office. The method used is quantitative method, the sample is thirty one, the Head of the Highways Section, 10 employees, namely 7 employees of the Highways Division and 3 of Water Resources Employees. The technique used in determining individual samples is the census technique for the Head of the Highways Planning Section, for the Office employees using the pourpusive sampling technique, and for the community using the accidental sampling technique. Data analysis techniques are used with the results of observations, questionnaires, interviews, documentation which are then processed and analyzed to explain the research objectives, it can be concluded that the duties of the Pekanbaru City Public Works and Spatial Planning Service are in the Fairly Good category, with the percentage of Service respondents and the percentage of respondents. Dinas 51% while for community respondents the percentage is 60%. This can be seen from the implementation of the Pekanbaru City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency in an effort to prevent clogged drainage.
