Abstract

This study discusses the role of the Dumai City Communication and Information Office in the Covid-19 vaccine socialization activity, the number of hoax news circulating about the dangers of vaccines makes some people in Dumai City afraid, finally Diskominfo must establish public trust so that they want to be vaccinated with the form of socialization activities such as webinars that have been published. done. This study was conducted to find out how the role of Diskominfo and what are the inhibiting factors in the activity of socializing the Covid-19 vaccine in Dumai City. This study uses qualitative analysis and uses the theory of authority, namely a theory that shows the process of attribution, delegation and mandate in a government. With data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validity technique uses triangulation. The results showed that the role of Diskominfo in socialization activities was not only webinars but also various activities including webinars, Instagram posts, information on the contents of the Covid-19 vaccine. The inhibiting factor in this socialization activity is hoax news, which is very easily accessible, so people are asked to be careful in receiving information that is not certain the truth.
