Abstract
The more information technology develops now, the information needs will increase. Where everyone needs information in a fast, short and accurate manner. So we need a means to support this. Therefore a VPN was created to solve problems in insecure networks. VPN has several tunneling that can be used, such as Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) and Layer Twi Tunneling Protocol (L2TP). This research will analyze and compare the performance oh the PPTP VPN protocol and the L2TP VPN protocol. Tunneling that will be used by IPV6 based network. This study aims to see the performance between the two tunneling protocols, namely PPTP and L2TP as well as to provide information to the admin about the performance results of the two tunneling, namely PPTP and L2TP. The parameters used are: Delay, Jitter, Throughput, Packet loss. Based on the test results that have shown that in IPV6 (Internet Protocol Version 6), the Qos (Quality of Service) value obtained in the L2TP (Layer Two Tunneling Protocol) tunnel is superior to the PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) tunnel. Namely on the delay and jitter side.
