Abstract

ABSTRACT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ISLAMIC LEADERSHIP AT THE NATIONAL BOARD OF ZAKAT (BAZNAS) IN RIAU PROVINCE KURNIA DEFIANTI 172310167 Leadership in principle is a manifestation of a leader’s behavior. Good leadership and a conducive work environment will create an optimal employee performance. A leader is a reflection of an institution, an organization or a group that should be occupied by the right person, otherwise the institution, organization, or group will be difficult to achieve the expected targets and goals. The aim of this study is to investigate the implementation of Islamic Leadership at the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Riau Province. The subject of this study is the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Riau Province. The type of this study is a qualitative descriptive research. The data collection is done by interviews with 8 informants. The results of this study show that the implementation of Islamic leadership at the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Riau Province is in accordance with the concept of Islamic leadership, the leader has good faith, good morals, honest, responsible, competent, and the leader has applied the leadership with good attitudes such as fair, balanced, consistent, strong and energetic. Based on the previous explanation, it can be concluded that the Islamic leadership implemented at the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Riau Province has gone well so far, namely having good morals and being active in worship with the indicator of timely prayer, shiddiq, amanah, tablig, fathanah; and having leadership, managerial skills, and washatan with the indicator of making decisions, istiqamah, energetic and strong. But there are some activities that have not been implemented optimally, namely having a straight faith performed by reading the Qur'an and praying sunnah or being active in worship with the indicator of sunnah practice. There is one activity program that does not yet exist at the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Riau Province, that is having a fair and balanced attitude with the indicator of internal justice because there is no reward at the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Riau Province.
