Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution KM 11 No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. This research was carried out for 4 months starting from November 2020 to February 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the main interaction and effect of giving Kiambang Compost and NASA POC on the growth and production of red okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.). The design used in this study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors, the first factor was Kiambang compost and the second factor was NASA POC. The provision of Kiambang compost consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 1,2, 2.4 and 3.6 kg/plot and NASA POC consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 1.5, 3 and 4.5 ml/l water, as well as parameters The research consisted of plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit length, stem diameter, number of remaining fruit. Observational data from each treatment were analyzed statistically and followed by a further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the interaction of Kiambang compost dose and NASA POC concentration was significant on plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant and stem diameter. The best treatment was the Kiambang Compost dose of 3.6 kg/plot and the NASA POC concentration of 4.5 ml/l of water. The main effect of the Kiambang Compost dose was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was the Kiambang Compost dose of 3.6 kg/plot. The main effect of NASA's POC concentration was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was the NASA POC concentration of 4.5 ml/l water.
