Abstract

This research entitled "The Role of the Camat in Coordinating Peace and Order in the Gaung Anak Serka Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir Regency" to see how the Camat's Role as an organizer coordinator in the District. In the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2018 concerning District Heads or other designations of leaders and coordinators of government administration in sub-district work areas, which in carrying out their duties receive the delegation of governmental authority from the Regent / Mayor to handle some Regional Autonomy affairs and carry out general Government Duties. Then the Government Regulation regarding the District shows that one of the functions of the camat contained in article 10 is Peace and Public Order in the District area, of which the Camat is the coordinator. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, with the consideration that this method is in accordance with the formulation of the problem, objectives, and research benefits. In addition, with this method the data obtained is more complete, deeper, and more credible. Data that are developmental in nature of an activity, a broad and in-depth description can be known, so that the research objectives can be achieved. The data analysis technique that the writer uses in this research is descriptive analysis which describes the real situation according to the symptoms and problems that arise in the field and then the intervention is carried out to obtain a conclusion. In accordance with the data that the researchers have obtained, the camat has carried out peace and order activities as the coordinator of the organization and that there has been cooperation between related agencies to carry out these activities. The results of the sub-district head's role as coordinator of peace and public order in Gaung Anak Serka Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir Regency, were classified as quite good.
