Abstract

The critical flow rate can be calculated using several methods. These methods, among others, Giger-karcher and pudji permadi, are used to calculate the amount of critical flow rate. The critical production rate is the largest production rate that causes the WOC plane to move upward in a slightly flat curve without forming a cone (coning or cresting). If qoil ≤ qc then oil recovery will be high. Therefore it is necessary to optimize the acquisition of oil production so that the results provide maximum profit. One of these efforts is to maintain reservoir pressure, so that it is hoped that most of the oil in the reservoir can be lifted to the surface. If this is not considered, it is possible that the driving force will run out while there is still a lot of oil left in the reservoir. Many efforts and ways can be done to maintain reservoir pressure at the time of production, including controlling the flow rate of production. The economic value of a well depends on how much oil can be produced. This triggers to reduce the rate of water during oil production. There are several factors that can cause high water content, including the condition of wells that are mature (old). Well productivity performance can be described by the IPR equation or in the form of a curve which is the relationship between production rate and bottom well flow pressure at a reservoir pressure. Productivity Index is an index used to express the ability of a well to produce under certain conditions, this is influenced by well flow pressure, well static pressure and production rate, the greater the value of PI, the higher the formation's ability to produce oil
