Abstract

Research title: "The Effect of Husk Charcoal Percentage as a Mixed Planting Media and POC TOP G2 on the Growth and Production of Celery (Apium graveolens L.)". The research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University. Kaharuddin Nasution road, cold water village, Bukit Raya sub-district, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The time of this research was carried out from December 2020 to March 2021. The purpose of the study was to determine the interaction of the effect of the percentage of husk charcoal as a mixture of planting media and POC TOP G2 on the growth and production of celery plants. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) in a factorial manner. The first factor is the provision of Husk Charcoal Percentage (M) with 4 levels: 0, 25%, 50%, 75% planting media. The second factor is the concentration of POC TOP G2 (P) with 4 levels: 0, 5, 10, 15 ml/l water. Consists of 3 replications to obtain 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, plant wet weight, number of leaf midribs, root volume, root crown ratio, and chlorophyll content. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the further BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of husk charcoal as a mixture of planting media and POC TOP G2 was significant on the parameters of plant height, number of tillers, wet weight per plant, number of leaf midribs, root crown ratio and chlorophyll content. The best treatment was the combination of 75% husk charcoal and POC TOP G2 15 ml/l water. The main effect of husk charcoal was real on the parameters of plant height, number of tillers, wet weight of plants, number of leaf midribs and root crown ratio, the best treatment was the percentage of husk charcoal 75% (M3). The main effect of POC TOP G2 has a significant effect on all parameters. The best treatment was a concentration of 15 ml/l water (P3).
