Abstract

When interacting, someone often combines or mixes the use of language, both Indonesian and regional languages and Indonesian and foreign languages. The use of language used when interactions like this occur in everyday life, one of which is in the speech of students at SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang, Kampar Regency. The problems in this study are: 1) How is the code mixing in the speech of the students of SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang, Kampar Regency?, 2) What are the factors that cause code mixing in the speech of the students of SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang, Kampar Regency?. The objectives of this study are 1) to describe, analyze, interpret and conclude how to mix code in the speech of students at SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang, Kampar Regency. 2) Describe, analyze, interpret and conclude what are the factors causing code mixing in the speech of the students of SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang City, Kampar Regency. The method used in this research is the method of content analysis (content study). The theory used in this study is the theory of Chaer Abdul (2010) regarding code mixing and Suandi's theory (2014) regarding the factors that cause code mixing. The results of this study found 83 utterances included in the speech code mixing of students of SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang City, Kampar Regency, namely students had mixed or inserted 4 languages in their speech. The languages used in code mixing or inserted in the students' speech are Malay, Minangkabau, Javanese, and English. Language insertion is done at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the speech. The factors that cause code mixing are classified as limitations in the use of code, there are 9 code mixing utterances. The use of the more popular terms has 6 code-mixed utterances, the interlocutor has 4 code-mixed utterances, the conversation mode has 7 code-mixed utterances, the topic has 14 code-mixed utterances, Functions and objectives there are 17 code-mixed utterances, To evoke a sense of humor there are 2 utterances code-mixing, For just prestigious, there are 3 code-mixed speeches, there is no code-mixing speech, there is no code-mixing speech, there is no code-mixing speech, there is no code-mixing speech, there is no code-mixing speech, there is no code-mixing speech, there is no code-mixing speech, and the presence of a third speaker is not there is code-mixed speech, the subject of the conversation is no code-mixed speech.
