Abstract

The Relationship between Leg Muscle Power and Balance on T Kick Ability in IKSPI Pencak Silat Athletes in Siak Branch The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between leg muscle power and balance on the results of the IKPSI pencak silat athlete's kick, Siak Branch. Based on the results of observations that have been made on IKPSI pencak silat athletes, Siak Branch, several problems were found including the lack of accuracy in leg muscle power so that it can be easily caught, there are still many athletes who are not able to do the T kick technique well, the T kick movement still looks stiff, as well as poor body balance when the athlete performs a T kick, it can be seen from the athlete not fully understanding the balance when maintaining the body after kicking, the balance that is not maximized when doing the T kick movement and the flexibility of the legs that seem not optimal from the athlete when doing the T kick. used in this study using the standing long jump test, balance and T kick test. The sample in this study was 18 people. From the results of tests carried out on IKPSI pencak silat athletes in Siak Branch, the results obtained are (1) There is a relationship between leg muscle power and T kick results as evidenced by rcount > rtable or 0.773 > 0.576 (2) There is a relationship between balance and T kick results as evidenced by rcount > rtable or 0.682 > 468, (3) there is a relationship between leg muscle power and balance with the results of the T kick as evidenced by rcount > rtable or 0.815 > 468.
