Abstract

Analyzing drama texts is one of the most important language skills develop students' thinking skills. Therefore, drama texts need to be taught to students, the skills of analyzing drama texts are learned in curriculum 2013 Indonesian language subjects in high school, especially class XI. The text of this drama is contained in Basic Competence 3.19 analyze the content and language of the drama that is read or watched. The problem that researched in this study are: How is the student's ability? analyze the content of the drama texts for class XI SMA YLPI Pekanbaru? and how students' ability to analyze the language of drama texts for class XI SMA YLPI Pekanbaru? The purpose of this study is to describe students' abilities analyze the content of the drama texts for class XI SMA YLPI Pekanbaru and describe students' ability to analyze the language of drama texts for class XI SMA YLPI Pekanbaru. This study uses a quantitative approach, because research These are presented in numerical form and use statistical formulas for calculate the data. The theory used in this research is the theory of drama presented by Mahsun (2014), Suyoto (2006 ), Mulyadi (2017), and the Ministry of Education and Culture (2007 ). The results showed that the ability of students analyze the content of drama texts for class XI SMA YLPI Pekanbaru Academic Year 2019/2020 very good category (86.32 ) in this case the hypothesis is accepted. Meanwhile, the students' ability to analyze the linguistics of drama texts for class XI YLPI Pekanbaru High School for the 2019/2020 Academic Year is categorized as good enough (68.29 ) in this case the hypothesis is rejected.
