Abstract
This research was motivated by students’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability problem that was happened to some students at junior high school 1 Bungaraya, Bungaraya sub-district, Siak regency. Where some students still did not know hijaiyyah letter, some of stduents did not know differentiate long and short reading in recite Al-Qur’an, and some of students could not spell makhraj letter correctly. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of drill method on students’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability in Islamic education letter at junior high school 1 Bungaraya, Bungaraya sub-district, Siak regency. This research used quantitative with correlational approach. The population was class VIII students’ at junior high school 1 Bungaraya, Bungaraya sub-district, Siak regency in 137 students and sample took 122 students. Data collection technique used questionnaire, test, and documentation. This research finding showed the teachers level mastery in students’ perception was in very high category. The other research finding showed that there was any influence of drill method on students’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 1 Bungaraya, Bungaraya sub-district, Siak regency with significant score 0.001. The influence score was very low (0.086 or 8.6%).
