Abstract

A teacher has double roles, namely as a teacher and an educator. Islamic behaviors should be possessed by every teacher as a role model that can support the teacher’s performance in the learning process.The problem formulation of the study is how the role of teachers in fostering students’ faith at the Tsanawiyah School in Patani (Southern Thailand). The aim of the study is to investigate the role of Tauhid teachers in fostering students’ Faith at the Tsanawiyah School in Patani (Southern Thailand). The type of the study is field research with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques of the study are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the Tauhid teachers have roles in fostering students’ faith. The role of the teachers as educators in fostering the students’ faith at the Tsanawiyah School in Patani (Southern Thailand) is by always guiding and encouraging students to increase their faith in daily life through habituation in worship such as congregational prayers, religious lectures (sermon), moral development, language programs, and giving directions to be better. The roles of the Tauhid teachers in fostering students’ faith are as facilitators, motivators, initiators, organizers, and inspirators, as well as role models for students so that the students will have good feedback in everyday life.
