Abstract
This study is motivated by the reality in the world of education that there is a diversity of abilities among students, as well as the students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur'an at SD IT Al-Huda in Duri, Riau province. This is a quantitative experimental study. The type of this experimental study is a quasi-experiment. The study aims to investigate the effect of achievement grouping learning model on students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur'an at SD IT Al-Huda in Duri, Riau Province. The sample of this study is the male students in grade VI at SD IT AL-Huda in Duri, Riau province, with a total of 30 students. The data collection techniques of the study are tests and documentation. The results of the study show that there is an effect of Variable X (Achievement Grouping Model) on Variable Y (Ability to recite Al-Qur'an) at SD IT Al-Huda in Duri. It can be seen from the comparison of average scores between before and after applying the Achievement Grouping learning model which increases from 44.00 to 77.53. While the comparison of average scores before an after applying the conventional method also increases from 28.27 to 53.00. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the effect of Achievement Grouping model is greater that the conventional method (iqra') on the students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur'an at SD IT Al-Huda in Duri, Riau Province.
