Abstract
This thesis discussed about the role of Islamic education teacher on improving students‟ religious awareness at junior high school 2 Left central Kampar. This research basically based on the lack of students‟ religious awareness at junior high school 2 Utama Karya Village left-central Kampar subdistrict, Kampar regency. It could be seen from some students‟ were lazy in doing prayer and even did not doi prayer, they were not honest, they were lack of polite, and they speak bad. Based on that problem, researcher intended to conduct research entitled the role of Islamic education teacher on improving students‟ religious awareness. The purpose in this research examined to know the role of Islamic education teacher on improving students‟ religious awareness at junior high school 2 Left central Kampar. This research was qualitative research. The source of data was got from three Islamic education teachers at junior high school 2 left-central Kampar. Data collection technique used interview and field documentation. Research finding showed that the role of teacher in giving understanding to students about God, religious values, and habituating in doing prayer and fasting, doing good thing to other. Islamic education teacher also established good communication to students‟ parents and society to control behavior and students‟ habitual in doing prayer at home.
