Abstract

The low learning creativity of students is a problem that must be considered by educators because the students are not only required to be smart in learning, but also they must have high creativity in learning. There is a sign of the low learning creativity at SMK Multi Mekanik Masmur Pekanbaru such as some students have low learning creativity, so it needs a solution to overcome this problem. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model is a learning model that can encourage students to have good learning creativity, broad ideas, and be independent without depending on others. The problem formulation of the study is whether there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model on the students’ creativities in learning Islamic Studies in class XI TKR at SMK Multi Mekanik Masmur Pekanbaru. The study aims to investigate the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on students’ creativities in learning Islamic Studies in class XI TKR at SMK Multi Mekanik Masmur Pekanbaru. This is a quantitative correlational study. The subject of the study is the students in class XI TKR at SMK Multi Mekanik Masmur Pekanbaru totaling 79 students. The study has two variables, namely the CTL Model (Variable X) and the Students’ Learning Creativities (Variable Y). Based on the results of the data analysis perfomed by IBM SPSS 24, the students’ learning creativities are affected by the CTL model with a significance value is less than 0.05, or 0.000 < 0.05, it means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The CTL model (variable X) affects the students’ learning creativities (variable Y). So, it can be concluded that the effect of CTL model on students’ creativities in learning Islamic Studies in class XI TKR at SMK Multi Mekanik Masmur Pekanbaru is in the "Strong" category with a percentage of 65%. Meanwhile, 35% of the students’ learning creativities is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
